Project description:

The installation of the new cycle-pedestrian bridge in Tavernelle di Colli al Metauro was completed on Thursday the 30th of November 2023, causing the closure of a part of Via Flaminia for just a few hours. The structure, in COR-TEN steel, takes the place of the old wooden bridge (about 30 meters long and 2 meters wide), at km 267+300 of the Consolare road, impassable since the beginning of summer 2021 due to serious deterioration of the materials, then removed in June this year. After about two and a half years, the people of Tavernelle, in the municipality of Colli al Metauro, will once again have a cycle-pedestrian passage over the Rio Barzotto, alongside the Flaminia road.  The Mayor declares that “the choice of COR-TEN steel is based on its durability over time and on the fact that it blends very well with the landscape context”.  Then the mayor adds: “This is an important connection work between the old town of Tavernelle and the new one, which restores safety, especially for pedestrians.”

Challenge:

The Biagiotti company took care of the carpentry.  The new infrastructure, in COR-TEN steel, arrived on site in one piece, making the installation extremely smooth.  The launching operations, which involved 6 workers and 2 crane trucks, were completed in a few hours.
